ひとり赤提灯：他者目線、どのくらい気になりますか？

最近増えたと感じるよく見かける電車内の風景の一つに、帰宅時間帯における【ひとり赤提灯】がいます。ひとり赤提灯とは、山手線や京浜東北線のようなロングシートの通勤電車内で、一人で缶酎ハイや缶ビールを飲んでいる人のことです。

首都圏でも都心から千葉、埼玉、神奈川など郊外方面に向かう電車内でよく見かけるようになりました。帰宅途中のサラリーマンが座って飲む、吊り革に掴まりスウィングしながら飲む、ドア近くで壁に寄り掛かりながら飲む・・・スタイルはいろいろです。

向かい合わせの４人掛けボックスシートで仲間同士ワイワイではなく、２列向かい合わせのロングシートの通勤電車で、とても静かにおとなしく飲んでいます。

酔っ払いが好きではない私は『お疲れさま。家まで遠いのかな、地元の居酒屋までもたなかったのかぁ』とは思います(笑)でも、やたらと声とリアクションの大きいオバサマ軍団、イチャイチャを通り越してもはや公然猥褻レベルのカップル、朝のスッピン乗車からの車内化粧に比べると不快感が少ないのはなぜでしょう(笑)

私も女性なので、１分でも多く寝ていたい朝のメイクの面倒さがわからないわけでもないのですが・・・。リップクリームを塗るくらいならまだしも、いくらなんでも土台から顔面を作り上げるのはやり過ぎに思えます。電車待ちをしながら、器用にホームでメイクしている女性も見かけました。降車する時は別人、ビフォー・アフターです(笑)

人前で恥ずかしげもなく他者を怒鳴り散らす人、車内化粧に熱心な女性、席を占領して寝ている酔っ払いのサラリーマン。走り回る子供を放置してベビーカーを並べておしゃべりに夢中なママたち。そして、やたらイキのいいオバサマたち。

自分に直接関係があり実際に面識のある人や、リアルでお付き合いがない人も多数混じるＳＮＳでは“どう思われるか、見られるか”をとても気にするのに、一方で車内や通りすがりでは、他者にどう映るか気にもしない光景があります。そこは「だって遅刻しそうなんだから車内でメイクするしかないじゃん！」だったり「仲間といるとどうしても楽しくなっちゃって声が大きくなっちゃうのよ〜」「え？子供は元気なものでしょ？言ったって聞かないし、もう少しあたたかく見守ってくれてもいいのに」などなど、言い分はあるようです。

しかし、言動の一貫性の無さと厚顔無恥さの風潮に違和感を覚えるわけです。

セルフモニタリングは何も認知に限った話ではありません。迷惑をかける行為だけでなく、通りすがりの無関係な誰かを不快にさせてしまうかもしれないことに、もう少しだけ敏感になったら、世の中のモヤモヤやイライラが少なくなるのでは？と常日頃から思っています。

何も聖人君子であれ、と言っているわけではなく、

を意識してみると、立ち居振る舞いが少し品がよくなるように思えるのです。
