新型コロナウイルスの影響により、当初は首都圏や関西、福岡に緊急事態宣言が出され、今や全国に緊急事態宣言が出されるに至りました。生活が一変し、日常とは違う生活を強いられていることだろうと思います。一応来月６日までということですが、それで済むかいえば甚だ疑問です。

英国では以前より緊急事態宣言が出されており、そこで静かに社会問題化しているのがＤＶであることが報道されていました。恐らく虐待も増加していると想像します。

経済的に苦しくなり、徐々にメンタルが不安定になっていった結果、ＤＶや虐待が誰の身にも起き得るということを理解しておくことが大切です。最悪の場合、離婚に発展することもあるようです。『コロナ離婚』という言葉も既に耳にします。

夫の収入が不安定になり（あるいは無くなり）、生活が維持できなくなるのではないか、これからどう生活していけばいいのか、という極度な不安がメンタルを追い詰め、ＤＶ、虐待という形で顕れることがあります。それが酷くなれば、当然一緒に生活できないとなり、離婚へ至る夫婦もあるようです。

２０１９年８月１９日のコラムで、弊社の心理士である本城がモラルハラスメントについて書いていますので、それと合わせて読まれることをお勧めします。というのも、今の社会的・経済的不安定の状況にこそ、モラルハラスメントが顕在化し、横行し、今まで他人事だと思っていたことが突如自分の身に起きる可能性が高まるからです。

世間全体が今、我慢を強いられています。テレワーク、在宅勤務ができている人で、収入面でもそれほど心配ではなくても、夫婦関係、親子関係は別であることは肝に命じておくとよいと思います。外出自粛も相まって四六時中一緒に居れば、家庭でも多少の差はあれ、イライラが溜まってくるものです。子供も学校は休校状態であり、子供の面倒を見ながらの在宅勤務、テレワークなど、やはり心理的負担は大きいはずです。

そんな状態が毎日続くわけですから、当然イライラが溜まり、時として心にもなく、“つい”キツい言葉が出てしまうかもしれません。そこからゆっくりと気持ちのスレ違いのようなことが進行し、知らず知らずのうちに溝が出来てしまう、ことになりかねないのです。

収入面での心配が生じてしまっている場合は、よりメンタルを直撃し深刻になりやすくなります。私もリーマンショックの時などは本当に辛かったし、今思えば軽い鬱になっていたのではないかと思うくらいです。しかし今回は、それを上回る規模で景気が急速に後退しつつあります。行政機関からの休業要請もあり、支援金などの制度を活用したところで再開の目処が立たないうちは、不安はまったく払拭されません。このような状況で

どうメンタルを保てばいいのか？

これは経済的な問題と同時に重要な問題です。経済的な問題は死活問題ですから、同時にダイレクトにメンタルにも影響してきます。私がリーマンショックの時に感じた、重苦しく不安しかないメンタル状態にならないために、メンタルをいかに保って難局を乗り越えていくかが、今、最も重要なもうひとつのテーマです。

しかし『これ！』という方法はありません。ただ不安に呑み込まれないようにすることが肝要です。そのためには、

今の自分の現状を受け入れること、

出来ることから行動すること（今なら行政機関の支援制度を調べ行動するなど）、

そして親など身内、知人、友人と相談も含めた世間話すること

です。これを【意識的に】おこなうことです。【意識的に】がミソです。この時、心配をかけたくないとか、見栄、羞恥心は最大の敵になるので、そういう類の感情は早く捨てたほうがいいと思われます。社会全体が有事なのですから、ヘンにカッコ付けるのは危険です。社会全体が有事だからこそ、むしろ共感が得られやすいかもしれません。

共感できる人や共感し合える人がいることは、メンタルにとって非常に重要なことです。

どうか共感し合える人を一人でもいいので見つけてほしいと思います。決して独りで抱え込まないことが肝要です。

このように、自分ができる小さなことを行動に移すことで、不安に呑み込まれにくくなります。ただし、不安が解消されるわけではないことに注意してください。不安に呑み込まれにくくなることで、少しずつ出来ることが見えてきたり、夫婦や恋人との会話であれば、思わず前向きな言葉が出てくるかもしれません。こういう時、夫婦や恋人は戦友のように共に励まし、助け合う関係になり、絆がさらに深まる機会でもあります。単身であれば仲間同士で励まし合い、信頼関係が一層深まる機会でもあります。つまり、こういう時は

孤立化しないこと

が重要です。孤立化しなければ、メンタルが不安に呑み込まれにくくなり、深刻な状態に至らない予防になり得ます。

今、新型コロナウイルスに感染しないことが最も重要なことですが、次に重要なのは、意外と見落としがちな【メンタルをいかに保つか？】です。今こそ自分のメンタルのしなやかさが問われています。

メンタルは不安に駆られているうちに壊れていきます。メンタルが壊れてしまっては、出来ることすらする気がなくなります。つまり気力が奪われます。さらに心がささくれ立ち、今まで築き上げた人間関係すら壊してしまうことになりかねません。

この度のことは長期戦が予想されます。この長期戦を乗り越えるには、

自らのメンタルに目を向け、気力を奪われないように、メンタルを自己管理すること

が重要です。

その方法のヒントについては、以前の本コラムに本城が書いていますので参考までに記載しておきます。
