思考について考えてみる【前篇】

いきなりですが“考える力”を育むために必要な要素とは何だと思いますか？

それは、

知識力と思考力

です。今回は知識力や思考力、また思考方法などを前篇・後篇で書きたいと思います。

知識力とは、その人自身が持っている知識の量ですが、暗記が得意で知識だけが溢れるほどあっても、思考力が伴っていなければ考える力が高いとは言えません。

知識力と思考力をマスク製作を例に出して考えてみましょう。

マスクを作るために必要な道具（ミシン、縫い針、ハサミなど）や材料（さまざまな布やゴムひもなど）が考えられます。

●道具の使い方やさまざまな布やゴムひもの性質をどれくらい知っているか？

↑これに該当するのが知識力になります。

●どの素材(夏だから接触冷感にしよう、冬は暖かな肌触り。ゴムひもは耳が痛くならないニット製、それとも耐久性のどちらを選ぼうかな)を使い、どんな形のマスク（立体型？プリーツ型？など）を、何を使って（手縫いだけにしようか、ミシンを使おうか）どのような手順で作るのか（先にまとめて裁断しようか、ゴムひもから取り掛かろうか）？

↑これに該当するのが思考力になります。

道具や材料が揃っていても、

  • 何のために
  • どのようなマスクを

をイメージできなければ実際の行動に移すことはできません。取り掛かれても、途中でグダグダになることが目に見えています。

私たちは、

無意識に知識を使い、知識を発展させたり応用するという思考がセットになって行動に繋がっている

ことが分かってもらえたと思います。

一度自分の行動を振り返り、

どのような知識を使い、それを発展、応用しているのかを意識してみる

とわかりやすいと思います。

料理、買い物といった家事、営業や接客、指示されたものを作り上げるといった仕事、そこには蓄えた知識を柔軟に発展、応用しているあなたがいるはずです。
