今回は以前からちょっと気になっていたことを書こうと思います。
最近は何でも耳障りよくマイルドな表現が好まれているようです。
何でもマイルドな表現にすると明らかに犯罪行為であるにも関わらず、事の重大さが軽く薄っぺらくなってしまうように感じるのは私だけでしょうか。
例えば『援助交際』や今流行りの『大人のパパ活』は“売春”以外の何ものでもありませんし、万引きや空き巣、車上荒らしは窃盗、ひったくりは強盗、身体的虐待はただの暴力・暴行・傷害です。
３６０度どこから見ても詐欺や傷害同様犯罪なのに売春、窃盗、強盗、暴行では表現が強過ぎてダメなのでしょうか？万引きはとても軽く考えられていますが、それが１０円の商品でも“お店の商品をお金を支払わず取る”行為は明らかな窃盗（＝犯罪）です。
大切なのは商品の値段ではない、ということです。１０円のチョコでも１００万円の指輪でも同じ重さの“窃盗”（敢えて万引きなんて軽い表現はしません）です。
「たった１０円くらい・・・」と思いますか？しかし、その考えはとても危険な考えです。“たった１０円”すら払わずに盗む“恥ずかしい行為”が万引き＝窃盗＝犯罪なのです。
「わかったわよ！お金払えばいいんでしょ！払えば！！」「子供のやったことじゃない！」とスーパーの事務所の奥から漏れ聞こえたこともありますし、実際報道番組の万引きＧメンなどの特集でも目にしますが、見ているこちらが恥ずかしくなります。
見つかったら謝ればいい、見つかったらお金払えばいい、見つかったら返せばいい、子供のやったことだから大ごとにしなくても・・・。
誰でも間違いや誤りはあるものですが、やらかした側には“大したことない”と考えている人が一定数いて、そのような人たちが捕まった時に前記のような言い訳、言い草をしたり居直るように思います。
そういえば、犯罪ではありませんがマイルドヤンキーなんて言葉もありましたね。ヤンキーにマイルドもハードもあるのか？と甚だ疑問ですが、私の勝手なイメージとしては、拳で語る喧嘩（武力衝突）上等派とちょいワルの差くらいなのではないかと思っています。
